It's been over a year since Yellowstone's midseason finale aired — and it's been a dramatic year, with Paramount Network canceling its biggest show and WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes halting production of the series' final episodes.
However, the network was ultimately able to announce the show's premiere date on Thursday:
It will return in November for what promises to be an epic send-off.
Back in January, when Yellowstone was assumed to be taking a midseason break, the Dutton family's patriarch John.
John (Kevin Costner) was conspiring with daughter Beth (Kelly Reilly) to murder treacherous adopted son Jamie (Wes Bentley).
Even after Paramount Network declared that Yellowstone would be canceled due to alleged disagreements between Costner and co-creator Taylor Sheridan, there appeared to be a chance that it might be rescheduled.
According to Puck, before the WGA strike began in May, Sheridan had finished scripts for the show's fifth season's back half that did not contain Costner.
According to the industry magazine, the actor's representatives later expressed a desire to return for Season 5B and maybe Seasons 6 and 7.
