Yellowstone's Return Is Finally Scheduled for Paramount Network

It's been over a year since Yellowstone's midseason finale aired — and it's been a dramatic year,

with Paramount Network canceling its biggest show and WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes halting production of the series' final episodes.

However, the network was eventually able to confirm when the show would return: it would return in November 2024 for what promises to be an epic sendoff.

Back in January, when Yellowstone was assumed to be taking a midseason break, the Dutton family's patriarch John (Kevin Costner) was conspiring with daughter Beth (Kelly Reilly) to murder treacherous adopted son Jamie (Wes Bentley).

Even after Paramount Network declared that Yellowstone would be canceled due to alleged disagreements between Costner and co-creator Taylor Sheridan,

there appeared to be a chance that it might be rescheduled. According to Puck, before the WGA strike began in May, Sheridan had finished scripts for the show's fifth season's back half that did not contain Costner.

According to the industry magazine, the actor's representatives later expressed a desire to return for Season 5B and maybe Seasons 6 and 7. Sheridan was rumored to be open to rewriting Costner's John Dutton into 5B after the strike. But then... ugh.

Puck alleges that when Sheridan called Costner in early July to discuss his potential Yellowstone comeback, the Golden Globe winner ran through his demands: more money, a shorter shooting time,

"Age is just a word for living," said Anne Hathaway.
