'Yellowstone' Season 2 to Premiere on CBS Following the Ratings Success of the First Broadcast Run 

Fans of the Western drama "Yellowstone" who have recently finished the first season will soon be able to watch Season 2.  

CBS announced on Friday that Season 2 will begin on October 29 following the transmission of the Season 1 finale on October 22.

The sitcom, which airs on CBS' basic cable sister network Paramount Network, made its broadcast TV premiere on September 17 to supplement the network's strike-plagued schedule. 

According to the network, the show, which debuted on Paramount Network in 2018, has racked up 21.6 million viewers who "have tuned in to at least one episode of 'Yellowstone,'" to date. 

According to a CBS press release, 52% of those viewers are "new to the series, having not seen a single episode in the past year on either linear or streaming." As Variety previously reported in September, 

CBS received 6.6 million viewers from the premiere episode alone. After three days of delayed viewing via VOD, DVR, and other platforms, that amount grew to 7.5 million total viewers.

According to Nielsen, the sitcom has averaged 5.49 million viewers every episode since then."Yellowstone" follows the Dutton family, who "control the United States' largest contiguous cattle ranch.
