The winning numbers for the Mega Millions on Tuesday, Nov. 14. Verify your $245 million jackpot tickets.

According to the Mega Millions website, the estimated jackpot for Tuesday night's drawing was $245 million, with a $112 million cash option.

The last jackpot win occurred on October 6, when a Texas lottery player took home a $360 million prize.

According to the Powerball website, the jackpot for Wednesday's drawing is $255 million, with a $117.1 million cash option.

Each ticket costs $2, but for an additional $1, you can add the Megaplier, which increases your potential prize up to five times the initial amount (not including the jackpot).

For the white balls, each player chooses five numbers between 1 and 70, and for the Mega Ball, they choose one number between 1 and 25. But you can also ask the lottery machine to choose a Quick Pick at random for you.

It is not necessary for you to be a citizen of the United States or a resident of the state in which you buy your ticket.

If you match just one, the Mega Ball, you can win $2. If you match all five white balls, you can win up to $1 million, minus the jackpot (except in California). On the Mega Millions website, you can view the complete list of prize payouts.

The U.S. Virgin Islands, the District of Columbia, and 45 states allow players to participate in the game. The following states do not offer Mega Millions: Nevada, Utah, Alaska, Hawaii, and Alabama.
