After a brief return for its seventh season, the American military drama series SEAL Team is coming to an end.
The seventh season of the show, which centers on the elite Navy SEAL team Bravo Team, was just confirmed, however it appears that David Boreanaz's character Jason Hayes and his charges will not be returning.
The procedural drama has been the subject of numerous cancellation rumors, including a fan campaign to keep it renewed past season six.
It also stars Max Thieriot (Bates Motel), AJ Buckley (Supernatural), Neil Brown Jr. (The Walking Dead), Jessica Paré (Mad Men), and Judd Lormand (American Horror Story).
SEAL Team's seventh season renewal was delayed because the season ended on a cliffhanger that featured the death of Thieriot's original character Clay Spenser.
This was "partly due to talks about finding ways to produce the series more efficiently for streaming," according to Deadline.
Tany Giles, the chief programming officer of Paramount Streaming, announced that SEAL Team has been renewed after its sixth season, saying,
"With the upcoming seventh season, we look forward to bringing SEAL Team fans even more of the series' poignant storylines and thrilling missions."
