Sadie Sink feels enthusiastic about women's roles in movies.

Sadie Sink, a 21-year-old actor from Stranger Things and The Whale, says, "The best advice I've gotten about being a woman ,

in the film industry—which kind of applies to women in every industry—is just to allow yourself to feel your own power in every room that you enter."

"And coming into my own voice has been tricky, spending the better part of my career as a minor stepping into adulthood.

."As Sink prepared for Chanel's Academy Women's Luncheon this year, Harper's Bazaar met up with her.

On November 9, women from the film business came together to celebrate the Gold Fellowship for Women on the open-air rooftop of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.

Sink feels grateful for the chance to be in the same room with her friends, particularly after the 118-day SAG-AFTRA actors strike.

It also serves as a reminder of how lucky she has been to grow up in Hollywood at this particular time.

Considering how much has changed in the last ten, twenty, or thirty years, I feel optimistic about the future of women in Hollywood," the woman says. It's simply a completely different environment.
