Randy Travis memorial will feature'surprise guests' in Huntsville.
The performance will take place on Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. in Huntsville's Von Braun Center and will feature performers performing Travis' classics. "A Heroes & Friend
Tribute to Randy Travis - 1 Night, 1 Place, 1 Time" tickets can be purchased at the VBC box office or online at ticketmaster.com. Individual ticket costs range between $79 and $1,059. Outback is the event's sponsor.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to the Randy Travis Foundation. The foundation is focused on stroke and aphasia awareness and supporting music education in schools.
Travis stated in an interview on YouTube, with the assistance of his wife Mary, that the homage meant "a lot."
Travis suffered a massive stroke in 2013, and his wife Mary discussed his condition. He was diagnosed with aphasia, which is brain impairment that makes it difficult to grasp or use words and causes difficulty speaking.
