Predictions for the CMA Awards 2022: Who Will Take Home the Top Honors?

Will Lainey Wilson's six nominations result in a trophy win?

Will Morgan Wallen win male vocalist and/or entertainer of the year for the first time?

The 56th annual CMA Awards will be held on Wednesday, November 9 at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena and will be broadcast live on ABC.

The program will be co-hosted this year by two-time CMA artist of the year Luke Bryan and NFL legend Peyton Manning.

Will Lainey Wilson, the leading nominee with six nominations in her first year as a nominee, win her first CMA Awards?

Will Carrie Underwood, a five-time nominee for entertainer of the year, or Miranda Lambert, a six-time candidate for entertainer of the year, eventually end the 11-year drought of a female in the headline award's winner's circle? (The most recent example was Taylor Swift.)

Cody Johnson made a big break this year with "'Til You Can't." Could he win for male vocalist or single of the year for the track? Meanwhile, Johnson and Lainey Wilson compete for new artist of the year, both having chart-topping records and successful touring careers.

Here are Melinda Newman's (executive editor, West Coast and Nashville) and Jessica Nicholson's (staff writer, Nashville) predictions for Billboard's winners (in certain categories)
