Perform kindly and extend more: Understand how giving can improve your mental health.

A generous deed has a lasting impact. Giving something helps both the giver and the recipient. These are a few advantages of giving for mental health.

You can find happiness in taking care of yourself. However, have you ever felt the effortless happiness that comes from helping others or doing a favour for someone?

Giving by volunteering or making donations can make a positive impact on others' lives, but did you know that it may also be beneficial to your own health?

Giving has so many positive effects that it instantly improves your mood.

When you understand that your actions can have a positive influence on other people's lives, you can also develop a sense of direction and purpose.

A 2008 study that appeared in the Science journal found a correlation between happiness and charitable giving.

However, the research also revealed that participants' happiness was unaffected by the amount of money they spent on new purchases or personal expenses.

Another study found that performing "random acts of kindness" for others can improve mood. It was published in the Emotion journal in 2016.
