Patriots to welcome Tom Brady back during 2023 season

Tom Brady will return to Foxborough, Massachusetts, for the 2023 home opener of the New England Patriots as the NFL initiates its first season since 1999 without the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

While the entire NFL schedule will be released at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Patriots owner Robert Kraft appeared on NFL Network's "Good Morning Football" to share thrilling news about the former quarterback.

"The NFL is over a century old, and for twenty percent of those years, the game's greatest player played right here in Foxborough," Kraft said Thursday morning.

"And I'm pleased to inform you and your audience that I've invited him back to join us at the opening game and let the fans in New England honor him for the more than two decades of outstanding service he provided to our organization.

And it will mark the beginning of many celebrations honoring Tom Brady and thanking him for his 20 years of service to the New England Patriots.

Since returning to New England as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021, it will be Brady's first appearance in front of Patriots fans.

In February, Brady proclaimed his second retirement, stating that this one is "for good."
