Paige Spiranac joins the fray following the firing of NBC analyst Paul Azinger.

Influencer in golf Paige Spiranac put herself forward as a candidate for NBC Sports analyst, following the departure of Paul Azinger, whose five-year contract was not extended.

The Ryder Cup in October marked the final event of the 1993 PGA Championship winner's tenure with NBC.

He stated that he expected to work the Hero World Challenge the following month.

A statement from Azinger's manager stated, "As their current contract ends, Azinger and NBC will part ways with the golf and media landscapes now in a more challenging environment."

One of the biggest figures in the sport, Spiranac, indicated he would be interested in succeeding Azinger on X.

Tiger Woods' comeback to golf would have taken place in the Bahamas if Azinger had been given the opportunity to call the Hero World Challenge.

It was on Saturday that he declared he would participate in the tournament, his first since April.

"I have treasured working beside Dan Hicks and the other talented NBC broadcasters as well as lead producer Tommy Roy and all those behind the scenes," Azinger stated. "They are an amazing team, and I will really miss them.
