Outlander's Sophie Skelton stars in a Hollywood thriller unrelated to the series.

Sophie Skelton has been cast as the lead in a new thriller that will begin filming in Scotland later this year.

She is most recognised for her role as Brianna Fraser in Outlander, in which she co-stars with Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, and Richard Rankin.

Sophie will co-star in the UK thriller Row with Bella Dayne and Akshay Khanna, with filming due to begin in Scotland in a few weeks.

Row follows the aftermath of a lady washing ashore on a bloodstained rowboat, her crewmates gone and assumed dead.

She must piece together her jumbled recollections in order to prove her innocence.

Row marks the directorial and writing debuts of Matthew Losasso and Nick Skaugen. "A vast ocean appears to stretch indefinitely."

However, on board the Valiant, the shortage of room fuels paranoia and dramatic drama.

"It's an engrossing and fantastically ambitious script," Matthew told The Hollywood Reporter.
