Outlander's Sam Heughan details surprising career that he admits he was 'rubbish' at

Sam Heughan, who plays Outlander, had another career in mind but it was not acting; it was not something he was very good at.

The Scottish actor, who has acknowledged to going "commando" on set with his Men in Kilts co-star Graham McTavish,

is most known to Starz subscribers for his nine-year role as the valiant Jamie Fraser in Outlander.

Prior to landing his big break in the romantic time travel drama, Heughan had parts in A Princess for Christmas,

Island at War, Young Alexander the Great, and Doctors. He was also forced to give up acting and register at the Job Center.

But the Outlander star had a whole other kind of career in mind, even before any on-screen credits.

During his opening monologue on Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight Show, Heughan mentioned his childhood dream of becoming a magician.

The strikes will have a long-term influence on the release date of Blood of my Blood, which is scheduled to premiere following season 8 of Outlander.
