Olivia Rodrigo Makes a Strong Argument in Support of Abortion Rights: "Politicians Should Never Handle Our Bodies"

The singer claimed that while performing in the country's capital, she felt driven to make a message.

Olivia Rodrigo seized the chance to discuss the startling disclosure on Monday of a draft opinion written by Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito,

claiming that the historic Roe V. Wade abortion decision from 1973 was "egregiously wrong from the start."

Rodrigo brought her Sour tour to The Anthem in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday night (May 4), two days after Politico published the opinion.

Fans uploaded a video of Rodrigo saying, "Because we're in DC, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to say how heartbroken I am over the Supreme Court's potential decision."

The crowd screams as she declares her support for preserving a woman's right to choose. Politicians should never have access to our bodies.

I hope that we can speak up in favor of our right to a safe abortion, a right that countless others have fought so hard to obtain before us. Since the release on Monday,
