Ohtani is pitched by Scherzer to the Rangers.

Even though Max Scherzer hasn't been with the Texas Rangers for very long, he still has recruiting potential.

During a Monday TV appearance, the three-time Cy Young Award winner pitched to free agent Shohei Ohtani.Laughing,

Scherzer added, "Money is great, but winning is better," in an interview. "If you want to come win,

that's better than money, I promise."Naturally, Scherzer wasn't taking the topic of money quite seriously.

However, he was presumably attempting to ensure that Ohtani took into account the potential success of his new team.

The Rangers, led by Scherzer, recently won their first World Series. Shortly before the trade deadline,

the future Hall of Famer signed with Texas, and his 2024 salary is projected to be $43 million. This winter, the two-way phenom Ohtani is expected to sign an MLB record deal,

capping six remarkable seasons with the Los Angeles Angels. Ohtani has indicated that one of his possible dream teams is the Rangers.
