NBA player admits Blockbuster Trade Deadline Drama Featuring Ja Morant

Pelicans guard CJ McCollum blames Ja Morant for this year's bizarre NBA trade deadline.

McCollum joked on Twitter after the Nets dealt Kevin Durant to the Suns.

ESPN's Malika Andrews asked Morant which playoff club he's worried about a month ago. "Cetcs," Morant said. "No one in the West?" Andrews replied.

"Nah, I'm fine in the West," Morant replied. The Western Conference's talent surge may have swayed the 23-year-old.

Durant joins Booker and Paul in fifth-place Phoenix. Kyrie Irving made his Mavericks debut last night. D'Angelo Russell is joining LeBron James on the Lakers, and Russell Westbrook may join the Jazz.

Nikola Jokic's first-place Nuggets beat the Grizzlies 105-91 in their only game this season.

Morant likely trusts his team. Memphis (33-21) is second in the West and a contender. The 2022 Warriors defeated the Grizzlies in the semifinals. Morant scores 27.4, assists 8.3, and rebounds 5.8. Rookie of the Year in 2020, the point guard made his second All-Star team.

When Morant eventually makes his way back to the court, it will be fascinating to observe his appearance.
