New "Yellowstone" Prequel Series "1932" and Additional "1883" Episodes Ordered by Paramount Plus

The Paramount Plus prequel "Yellowstone," "1883," has been given another season renewal,

while the Viacom-owned streaming service, ViacomCBS, has commissioned "1932," another origin narrative series developed by Taylor Sheridan that tells the story of the Dutton Family.

You guessed it: "during the time of western expansion, Prohibition, and the Great Depression," the drama will follow a new generation of Duttons.

Starring in "1883" are Isabel May, LaMonica Garrett, Marc Rissmann, Audie Rick, Eric Nelsen, James Landry Hébert, Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Billy Bob Thornton.

The Dutton family is followed throughout the show as they travel through the Great Plains in the west in search of the final stronghold of wild America.

It is both a sobering account of western development and a close examination of a family that left poverty behind in search of a better life in Montana, the promised land of America.

Sheridan, Ron Burkle, Art Linson, John Linson, David Glasser, and Bob Yari are the executive producers.

ViacomCBS, soon to be Paramount, revealed news about "1883" and "1932" during its investor day on Tuesday, along with additional updates on series produced by Sheridan under his agreement with MTV Entertainment Studios.
