Matthew Perry, from 'Friends,' Died at the age of 54

Mr. Perry, who died on Saturday, was best remembered for his part in "Friends," an NBC sitcom about a group of young Manhattan professionals.

Matthew Perry, who played Chandler Bing in the hit sitcom "Friends," has passed away. He was 54.

Capt. Scot Williams of the Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery-Homicide division verified the death. 

He stated that the cause of death will not be determined for some time, but there was no evidence of foul play.

Mr. Perry was well-known to American television audiences, having been in over 200 episodes of "Friends," the iconic NBC comedy that chronicled a group of young professionals living in Manhattan over the course of ten seasons. 

Mr. Perry co-starred in the film with Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, and Lisa Kudrow.

Chandler Bing, played by Mr. Perry, was known for his caustic wit.

"Friends" has lasted decades after it first aired in 1994, and has recently gained popularity among young audiences.

Though best known for "Friends," Mr. Perry's television career spans nearly four decades, beginning in 1979 as a young child in an episode of the cop show "240-Robert," according to IMDb.

At the age of 24, he earned the part of Chandler Bing.
