Star of "Friends," Matthew Perry, passes away at 54.

According to numerous media sources, actor Matthew Perry, who gained popularity for portraying Chandler Bing on the popular television series Friends, has away. His age was fifty-four.

The Los Angeles Times, celebrity website TMZ, and other reports state that Perry was discovered dead at his Los Angeles home on Saturday after what seemed to be a drowning.

When the AP asked LAPD Officer Drake Madison to confirm the police reaction to the address that was listed as Perry's residence,

Madison said that the officers had gone to the block "for a death investigation of a male in his 50s."

At the age of24, Perry was cast in the comedy Friends, which catapulted him to stardom.

Throughout the whole ten-season run of the sitcom, he played Chandler,

a sardonic yet amiable commitment-phobe who eventually fell in love with the Type-A Monica Geller (Courteney Cox).

"Remember this, because it's going to be the best time of your life," Perry remarked in an ABC News Nightline interview with Diane Sawyer last year. "I loved Chandler, I loved the show, and I also knew."
