Marvel replacing Tom Holland for new Spider-Man adventure

It has been revealed that Tom Holland will not be returning for Spider-Man's next adventure.

Following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Holland's Peter Parker became his own hero, becoming entirely self-sufficient and eerily similar to his comic counterpart.

A fourth Spider-Man film is in the works, possibly based on the fan-favorite Symbiote Spider-Man narrative, however the release date and cast are unknown at the time of writing.

Spider-Man: Freshman Year, an animated show planned to debut on Disney+ next year, will be the webhead's next adventure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Freshman Year will supposedly cover Peter Parker's high school life and will be set in an other reality, starring characters such as Norman Osborne and even other Spider-Man characters.

It has been revealed that Tom Holland will not reprise his role as Peter Parker; instead, Hudson Thames will assume the role.

Fans may remember that moniker because he has previously portrayed the web-slinger in Holland's absence.

Thames played Spider-Man in a single episode of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's What If?... animated series.
