Let Outlander Be Weird and Gross and Surprising Again

The seventh season of the historical drama Outlander concludes this Friday,

 marking the end of a run of episodes that have disappointed a lot of fans. Since last year,

 The show centers on Claire Fraser (Caitríona Balfe), who time travels to the 18th century from post-World War II Britain and

viewers have been dissatisfied with the latest plot point of the Starz television adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's novels,

which centers on our main couple, Claire (Caitríona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan),

 who live in rural North Carolina, see the coming American Revolution, and must decide how to respond.

 Supporters point out that the show appears overly tidy (which is accurate), 

that Claire and Jamie's Fraser's Ridge farmhouse is far too opulent (though it is!), and that the period leading up to the American Revolution is a

"Age is just a word for living," said Anne Hathaway.
