Stephanie Shepherd, Kim Kardashian's ex-assistant, finally tells why she was fired in 2017.

Stephanie Shepherd, Kim Kardashian's ex-assistant, has now explained why she was sacked in 2017.

Shepherd defended her friend and former boss for ending their professional relationship in the "nicest" way possible, saying in a recent interview that they were both "crying" at the time.

"I just had this gut feeling that it was time to move on." I'm not sure if I have anything else to add to this.' "I think she probably felt and saw that," she remarked on Oct. 23's "The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast."

According to a source, the "Kardashians" star, now 43, was irritated with Shepherd, 34, at the time for doing an interview with Refinery29 earlier that year.

Shepherd was notorious for discussing sensitive details about Kardashian's life with her now-ex-husband Kanye West, including further information on the Skims founder being robbed at gunpoint in Paris in 2016, and claiming that she "did all of [Kardashian's] laundry."

During a 2017 episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," Kardashian addressed the firing, saying Shepherd "wanted to go in a different direction."

"I understand. "I love encouraging whoever I'm working with," she added at the time. "Just because people stop working together doesn't mean that they're feuding and stop being friends."

Shepherd agreed, telling E! that they still talked once a week.

The two business owners have remained friends since, and Kardashian even attended Shepherd's star-studded wedding this past June. Kris Jenner and Khloé Kardashian also attended.

"Age is just a word for living," said Anne Hathaway.
