Although free agents are still to file, the Atlanta Braves have been busy reuniting with a few members of its bullpen.
Pierce Johnson signed a two-year contract first. Joe Jimenez, who is returning this morning with a $26 million contract for three years,
is the one. Jimenez is slated to earn $8 million in 2024 and $9 million in the last two years of the agreement.
Jimenez was acquired by the Braves from the Detroit Tigers in a trade last summer.
After undergoing back surgery in the off-season, he had a rough start to 2023 but ended the season strong, finishing with a 3.04 ERA and 3.59 FIP in 56 1⁄3 innings.
In his 59 appearances, Jimenez walked just 14 batter while striking out 73 batters.Though it won't happen right now,
Jimenez was scheduled to file for free agency on Thursday at 9 a.m. ET. The only two Braves players ,
that are unrestricted free agents are Jesse Chavez and Kevin Pillar, however a few more may sign with them soon.
