Director of Constantine 2 Updates Regarding Keanu Reeves' Much-Awaited Sequel

Although Constantine isn't one of Keanu Reeves' most well-known films, the actor claims to have adored playing the part.

A lot of people were thrilled to hear that a Constantine sequel would be coming almost two decades after the first one because it has become something of a cult classic.

Since then, not much has been revealed, but the director of Constantine 2 has now stated that the sequel is still in the works.

Given that there isn't yet a screenplay for the picture, it may come as no surprise that the writers' strike has caused delays for the next Constantine movie.

However, Francis Lawrence, the director of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,

recently told Gamespot that production is finally underway, after a purported legal dispute and a conversation about the plot with Keanu and sequel author Akiva Goldsman.

Lawrence clarified. Although it's unclear exactly what the character's problem was, Constantine is a member of the DC Comics Vertigo line,

and it seems that the rights to that are more complicated than those to the regular DC properties.
