Diana Gabaldon, the creator of Outlander, expresses 'worry' about the Jamie Fraser plot in the midseason finale.

Outlander, Starz's epic series, is taking a break following a stormy midseason finale in which the show's hero is thrust into a perilous predicament.

The Droughtlander is wreaking havoc on fans, and many are desperate for some respite.

Thankfully, Starz has an official podcast that provides viewers with tidbits from the most recent series,

as well as some behind-the-scenes insight into the show's production.

Outlander's supervisor Matthew B. Roberts opened up about his and the rest of the team's concerns regarding the midseason finale,

notably Jamie Fraser's (Sam Heughan) hand injury in one of the episodes.

Jamie ended up having a finger amputated in Diana Gabaldon's Outlander novels because the digit was so badly broken during the second Battle of Saratoga.

In the show, however, Jamie's finger was saved by his medic wife Claire Fraser (Caitrona Balfe) due to her understanding of twentieth-century medicine.
