Damien Martinez gashes Colorado for at least 150 rushing yard

Though he has not received as much attention as he should, Damien Martinez is undoubtedly one of the nation's best running backs.

. With 763 rushing yards this season, the Beavers star is ranked 23rd in the nation. Martinez is averaging an amazing 6.3 yards

Martinez ought to complete the task and then some this week. In conference play, Colorado's trenches

—or lack thereof—on both sides of the ball have proved to be fatal to the team.

UCLA's running backs gained 153 yards on 32 carries last week. MarShawn Lloyd of USC

outran the Buffaloes for 84 yards and a touchdown on just 13 carries. The previous week,

Bucky Irving of Oregon ran for 89 yards on just 10 carries and likely would have gained more if the Ducks had not dominated the Buffs from the first kickoff.

Colorado's rushing yard average per game this season is 165, which is the 37th worst in the nation.

That is not ideal. Although Martinez has not yet gained more than 150 yards in a single game this year,

"Age is just a word for living," said Anne Hathaway.
