Angel Reese sits out LSU game after benching amid messy situation in Baton Rouge

Questions regarding Angel Reese's situation have intensified in light of the noticeably empty spot on the LSU bench on Friday.

During the Tigers' game versus Southeastern Louisiana, the Most Outstanding Player from the previous season's NCAA women's basketball tournament was conspicuously absent.

According to Reed Darcey of The Advocate, LSU head coach Kim Mulkey failed to provide an explanation for her absence prior to the game.

Three days before to her absence, Reese had been benched during the second half of a victory over Kent State.

Mulkey again refused to comment when asked why she sat Reese and senior guard Kateri Poole.

With a "I could, but I won't," Mulkey said. "It was just a coach's decision."

The LSU program saw some extremely public internal strife as a result of that benching.

When the parents of the players are fighting on social media, it's never good. On Wednesday, Reese's mother, Angel Webb Reese, wrote the following strangely direct remark regarding grammar on her Instagram story.
