1883 Season 2: Here's what we know of the new Yellowstone spin-off

Parmount+ is getting ready for 1883 Season 2, which follows the success of Season 1. But the specifics are a little vague.

The first season finale of the Yellowstone prequel ended in a surprisingly poignant and depressing way.

In the penultimate episode of the season, Elsa Dutton (Isabel May) was hit by an arrow and died in the arms of her father James (Tim McGraw).

The Duttons settled in Montana, where the Dutton Ranch is located in modern-day Yellowstone, at the conclusion of the novel.

The news that Paramount+ is working on a new prequel, 1932, was released. An entirely new generation

of Duttons will be followed in the series "during the era of Western expansion, Prohibition and the Great Depression."

President and CEO of ViacomCBS Media Networks and MTV Entertainment Studios Chris McCarthy said in a statement,

With the brilliant mind and gifted storytelling of Taylor Sheridan, we have created an entirely new world to explore

with 1883 while expanding Yellowstone, and with 1932 we will open up a new chapter in this rapidly growing universe."
